Barbara is the co-leader for our women’s ministry here at First Christian Church. She also founded and leads our Spiritual Spa ministry. She has a heart for ministry with women that is undeniable and God is using her in a mighty way in our midst. Most importantly she is a woman that loves the Lord with all heart, mind and soul. What I can speak to most clearly to is her moral character. I trust her as a key leader with our women because her heart is right, she knows the Word of God and it is evident she is filled with the Holy Spirit. I am so excited she is branching out in her ministry with her Living Interpretations. I have no doubt the Lord has and is going to use this ministry to touch the mind, heart and soul of many women.

BARB WALLS REFERENCE

I have known Barb for three years. I came to know her as she and my sister started “Roanoke Valley Prayer Squad” to gather women in our area to pray for unity and racial reconciliation. Later, she was the leader of the conference “Sex and the Soul of a Woman” and we served together on the leadership team.
I find her to be organized, bright and to have tremendous leadership qualities. Most of all, I know her as a woman of God – she joyfully shares her role of wife, mother and grandmother as well as a leader in her church. I find her to prayerfully consider her commitments. Her integrity is impeccable. The deep well of desire to use her life’s story to impact and help grow other women is admirable.

| Barbara Walls loves God and is an example of a woman following His call on her life. She has a heart for women and is able to relate to women of all ages. Barb has followed God’s call to lead our church’s women’s ministry and has developed an ongoing spiritual spa ministry for women in our area and surrounding counties. Barb has also been instrumental in bringing together women of all denominations, backgrounds and color from our community to form a prayer group. This group of women gather together quarterly to pray for our community. She has been gifted with a beautiful voice and uses it to sing praises to our King. Additionally, Barb presents interpretive dramas to women of women in the bible. She is an excellent speaker and uses all of her talents in our community to draw women closer to Christ.
I have been blessed to work with Barb on several projects. She has been my teacher in Sunday school and my friend in bible studies. She is knowledgeable of scripture and is able to share it with others in a simple, loving manner. I never get tired of hearing her talk about the Lord, scripture and women’s ministry because I see Christ living in her and working through her.

Barb Walls, As I See Her

Spiritually is the only context in which I know Barb Walls and in which I can recommend her to you. We've never shared a cup of coffee, exchanged birthday presents, or been included on each other's Christmas card list. Our husbands don't know one another, nor our children. We're just two women whose paths have been crossed by God and in whom He has planted a strong desire to please Him.
Barb is gifted in many ways and in my attempt to summarize those gifts I come up short with the one perfect word. In secular terms, I would say she has star quality - that certain magnetism that causes others to be drawn to her although they're not sure why. She is also sophisticated, intelligent, classy, charming, a born organizer and a true leader. In a world where the number one fear is standing before others for a performance, presentation or message, she has none - no stage-fright whatsoever. In fact, the first time I ever set eyes on her was at a musical program benefiting a cancer survivor where she sang. Her singing ability is as professional as they come and I remember thinking why in the world she wasn't a superstar. She had the audience in the palm of her hand and it was a spine-tingling experience. But it didn't stop there. Halfway through the song, the sound recording stopped - just like that - nothing. Within a nano-second, Barb reacted and continued on like she was being accompanied by the London Symphony. It all happened so quickly and so effortlessly that most of the audience didn't even realize she was singing a cappella.
But in looking at Barb Walls through the eyes of Christ, it is there that you see the purpose for which she was created and the cause of the power that draws others to her. Her spirit (the Holy Spirit) is very intense and very passionate about the Father's business. Whenever I am in her presence, the Spirit that resides in me jumps for joy with the Spirit that resides in her, reminding me of when Mary, carrying Jesus Christ (who would become the Ruler of the Nations) in her womb, visited Elizabeth, whose womb was filled with baby John, who later became the very soul that directed multitudes to Him.
I know without a shadow of a doubt, that Barb is a child of the Most High and that she is busy about His work. I also believe in my heart, that He is greatly pleased.
